Since the beginning of this year, China's yarn and fabric export trade has been moving forward under pressure. Affected by changes in the global trade environment, regional political tensions and economic restructuring, China's yarn, fabric exports to a number of major markets around the world declined, but exports to the largest market ASEAN still maintain double-digit growth.According to the China Chamber of Commerce for Textile Importers and Exporters yarn branch data show that in the first five months of this year, China's yarn, fabric exports amounted to 33.33 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 2.3%. Among them, the export amount of yarn was 5.81 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decline of 2.9%, while the export amount of fabric was 27.53 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 3.5%.ASEAN is the top market for China's yarn and fabric product exports, accounting for more than 20% of total exports. Data show that in the first five months of this year, China's exports of yarn and fabric to ASEAN amounted to 11.59 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 11.5% year-on-year. Among them, yarn exports amounted to 1.3 billion U.S. dollars, up 14.8% year-on-year; fabric exports amounted to 10.29 billion U.S. dollars, up 11.1% year-on-year. Among the subdivided markets, the amount of yarn exported to Vietnam increased by 13.7% year-on-year and the amount of fabric exported increased by 13.8% year-on-year; the amount of yarn exported to Cambodia increased by 33.8% year-on-year and the amount of fabric exported increased by 34.3% year-on-year; the amount of yarn exported to Myanmar decreased by 16.5% year-on-year and the amount of fabric exported decreased by 5.4% year-on-year.China's export of yarn to the three South Asian countries showed different degrees of dynamics. Data show that in the first five months of this year, China exported yarn to India amounting to 350 million U.S. dollars, down 40.1% year-on-year; exported yarn to Bangladesh amounting to 600 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 12.3% year-on-year; exported yarn to Pakistan amounting to 410 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 44.2% year-on-year.In addition, this year, China's exports of yarn to the Middle East, North America and Europe were down. Data show that in the first five months of this year, China's exports of yarn to the Middle East countries amounted to 830 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decline of 5.2%. Among them, the amount of yarn exported to Turkey decreased by 18% year-on-year, the amount of yarn exported to Egypt decreased by 1.7% year-on-year, and the amount of yarn exported to the United Arab Emirates increased by 47.9% year-on-year. Among the European countries, the amount of yarn exported to Poland decreased by 37% year-on-year, the amount of yarn exported to the UK decreased by 26% year-on-year, and the amount of yarn exported to Russia decreased by 24.5% year-on-year.From the specific products, in the yarn products, only cotton yarn export amount growth. Data show that in the first five months, cotton yarn exports amounted to $ 500 million, an increase of 13.5% year-on-year; during the same period, chemical fiber yarn exports amounted to $ 48.05 billion, a year-on-year decline of 2.2%; silk yarn exports amounted to $ 0.6, a year-on-year decline of 1.3%; wool animal wool yarn exports amounted to $ 320 million, a year-on-year decline of 32.8%.In fabric products, only the export amount of chemical fiber woven fabrics to maintain growth. Data show that in the first five months, the export amount of chemical fiber woven fabrics was 11.99 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 3% year-on-year; during the same period, the export amount of cotton fabrics was 3.94 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decline of 5.8%; silk woven fabrics export amounted to 130 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year drop of 16.1%; wool animal wool woven fabrics exported 130 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decline of 4.5%.From the import side, China's yarn, fabric imports to maintain momentum. According to the China Chamber of Commerce for Textile Importers and Exporters yarn branch data show that from January to May, China's yarn, fabric imports amounted to 3.41 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 9.3%. Among them, the yarn import amounted to 2.32 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 14.2% year-on-year, the fabric import amounted to 1.09 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decline of 0.03%.From the perspective of major products, China's yarn imports are dominated by cotton yarn, accounting for 70% of total yarn imports. Data show that in the first five months, China's imports of cotton yarn amounted to 1.62 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 15.1% year-on-year, the number of imports of 666,000 tons, an increase of 23.3%. The top 5 sources of imported cotton yarn all from the Asian region, which together accounted for 90%. The data show that in the first five months, China's imports of cotton yarn from Vietnam increased by 14.9% year-on-year, imports from Pakistan increased by 12.2% year-on-year, imports from Uzbekistan increased by 79.5% year-on-year, imports from Malaysia increased by 26.9% year-on-year, and imports from India decreased by 6.2% year-on-year."
