The smooth opening of the test train has laid a foundation for the official operation and gradual normal operation of the upcoming China-Europe freight train from Yangluo Port (Wuhan).


Most of the first test freight trains are fully loaded with auto parts, machinery and equipment, computer cases, epidemic prevention materials and other goods, which are bound for Europe by China-Europe freight trains (Wuhan) from Xiantao, Jingzhou and other groundwater after gathering in Yangluo Port's first-stage demonstration base for the combined transportation of iron and water.


Compared with the previous single road transport, the multimodal transport mode for enterprises to save transport costs.


In order to ensure the smooth operation of the freight train, Hanou Company actively communicated with Wuhan Customs, Wuhan Railway Bureau Group Company and Yangtze River New Silk Road Company, and successfully completed the planning of routes, application of lines, docking and customs affairs, coordination of water cargo consolidation, and development of operation procedures of water and rail combined transportation. Wujiashan station has also opened a green channel for this purpose.


It is understood that from Yangluo Port to Wujiashan Railway Logistics Base, transportation distance of about 60 kilometers. In the past, if the goods transported by water need to take the China-Europe freight train, they need to be pulled from Yangluo port to Wujiashan by container truck. Therefore, the enterprise will increase the transportation cost. A standard container will be transferred from Yangluo port to Wujiashan container railway central station by road, and it will cost at least 1000 yuan.


Wuhan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have held meetings for many times to solve the "last kilometer" problem of water-rail international combined transport.

"Yangluo Port - Wujiashan - Duisburg" water and rail combined transport test trains are gradually cracking this problem. If the China-Europe freight train (Wuhan) starts from Yangluo Port, it will truly realize the seamless docking between the international line of water transportation and the international line of land transportation.


Wuhan, known as the "thoroughness of nine provinces", is the strategic intersection of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and "One Belt And One Road". The successful delivery of the "Yangluo Port - Wujiashan - Duisburg" water-rail combined transport test train initially realized the seamless connection between the China-Europe freight train (Wuhan) and the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, providing more diversified logistics solutions for the local foreign trade enterprises in Hubei Province, and will help Wuhan to build the logistics pattern of water-rail combined transport. In the future, goods along the Yangtze River can be transported by water to Yangluo Port Demonstration Base for Rail-water Combined Transport, and then quickly shipped to Europe on the China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan).
