Today marks the 23rd World Milk Day. In order to better promote the nutritional value of dairy products and the importance of health, since 2000, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization set June 1 as the world Milk Day, milk is also known as the most nutritionally perfect food. As a century-old Dutch dairy company with the title of "royal", Friesland always takes "natural nourishment" as its mission. Every day, through the whole industrial chain of "from pasture to table", Friesland provides millions of consumers around the world with the precious nutrition in milk. In China, Friesland brings the natural good nutrition from milk to more Chinese consumers through health science education, local innovative research and development, and assistance to dairy farmers.
Yang Guochao, senior vice president of Friesland China, said, "Friesland takes advantage of its whole industrial chain to continuously bring quality products to China. At the same time, we will actively share the knowledge and experience accumulated over 150 years, promote the exchanges and cooperation between The Chinese dairy industry and the world dairy industry, and strive to bring the natural good nutrition from milk to more Chinese consumers."
In order to properly assess the ability of Chinese people to correctly understand and consume dairy products, Friesland has continuously published the "China Dairy Trader Index report" since 2018, covering three dimensions of milk drinking awareness, milk drinking knowledge and milk drinking behavior, which truly and objectively reflects the performance level and structural characteristics of Chinese people's knowledge and consumption of dairy products. The healthy idea that drink milk every day and drink milk for life is becoming more and more popular. In 2019, Friesland launched the "Children's Milk Merchant Training Camp", through a fun nutrition corner, a set of fun popular science books, a dairy merchant food education class, and a series of popular science training "four and one" actions, to make the knowledge of dairy science fun to reach children. In 2021, the food education class of children's dairy merchants was upgraded to a part of the "14th Five-year" project "Research on supporting Strategies for improving Children's milk drinking Behavior", forming 22 food education courses covering four modules. From 2019 to 2021, Friesland Children's Milk Merchants Training Camp has visited 21 kindergartens, benefiting more than 22,800 people. Friesland is also constantly exploring innovative ways of popularizing dairy science, transforming dairy knowledge into a form that is easier for children and parents to understand through interesting short videos, picture books, finger exercises, animations and other diversified forms.
In order to promote the cooperation and exchange between China and the Netherlands, Friesland, together with China Agricultural University and Wageningen University of the Netherlands, launched the China-Netherlands Dairy Development Center in 2013, establishing a triangular closed loop of "industry-university-research". At the same time, Fresland gives full play to the whole industry chain management experience, through the "Philippine-Chang Dairy Farmers" -- Sino-Dutch dairy farmers pairing plan, to help Chinese dairy farmers solve the whole process of "grass, material, management, feeding, disease" and other problems in the breeding process, effectively improve the actual income of dairy farmers, and help improve the quality and efficiency of the overall development of China's dairy industry.
With the accelerated implementation of the "Healthy China 2030" initiative, more and more Chinese people begin to pay attention to health. This year's Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents 2022 updated the daily recommended intake of milk and dairy products from 300g to 300-500g. Friesland will also continue to invest in science popularization and propose to achieve adequate supplementation through diversified intake methods. In the future, Friesland will stick to its original aspiration and continue to increase investment in RESEARCH and development to become a good partner to promote the development of China's dairy industry.
